Notes for: Marcus A. Capps

Obit - Funeral Home - May 24, 2019

Marcus A. Capps was born February 28, 1946 to Martha Capps in New York. He was adopted at the age of two by his maternal grandparents. He graduated from an all-boys Catholic high school. His job at Reynolds & Reynolds brought him to Cleveland, Ohio where he met the love of his life, Jessica. After dating for a while, Marcus proposed to Jessica and she accepted his proposal under one condition…He had to plan the entire wedding and reception on his own. Marcus agreed and pulled off the entire event that was very unique featuring an accordion player and watermelon fruit baskets shaped like rabbits! Marcus was an avid tennis buff and he loved to watch tournaments on television. He even cancelled his first date with Jessica to watch one. Marcus taught primary bible school at the Chesterland Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where he was a member. He played racquetball almost every Sunday and volunteered to cut the church grass. Marcus had a strong laugh that made everyone around him smile. Marcus retired from Reynolds & Reynolds after 40 years of dedicated service. He also worked for Motor Cars Honda for 15 years. Marcus was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia (LBD) in 2015. Jessica stayed home and cared for Marcus until January, 2019. Marcus spent the last three months of his life battling LBD between the hospital, rehab, and hospice care. Marcus was a beloved husband for 29 years until he passed from this life on May 24, 2019.
