Benton Patrick Fasano, 72, of Tyngsborough, MA passed away surrounded by his family on September 16, 2019 after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy (nee Armstrong), son Todd Benton and wife Heather Fasano of Merrimack, NH, son Keith David Fasano of Plainfield, NH, son Brian DuBois and his wife Kimberley Fasano of Goffstown, NH. Sister Louise and husband Dr. Joseph Answine of Elizabethtown, PA, and sister in law Carole J. Armstrong of Chelmsford, MA. He was a doting grandfather (Grumpy) to David Maxwell, Todd Benton Jr., Lucas Allen, Elise Camille, John Stephen, Eric Benton, and Elizabeth Adelle, as well as two grandchildren by heart, Natalia and Devin. He was predeceased by his mother Adella (nee Chugin) and Anthony Fasano both of Elizabethtown, PA. Benton was born in Tacoma, WA, on November 11, 1946, and spent his early childhood on an Army base in Okinawa, Japan. He then moved to Long Island, New York and Ohio. He graduated from Chaminade High School in Dayton, OH in 1964. After his graduation from High School he enlisted in the Navy and served on the Navy Ships the USS Boxer LPH 4, assisting with an unmanned Apollo recovery mission in February 1966, the USS Stickell DD888, and the USS Brownson DD868. He also served as an MP out of Boston, MA. He met his future wife, Dorothy (Dottie), in 1966 in Boston, MA and they were married on November 25, 1967 at Central Congregational Church in Boston. In 1969 they settled in Tyngsborough, MA and raised their family. Benton was a graduate of UMass Lowell (then University of Lowell) with an associates and bachelor’s degree in Engineering in 1977. Before and after his graduation, he worked as an electrical and test engineer for various companies along the 128 Technology Corridor. He was an active member of the Tyngsboro Sportsman’s Club, Westford Senior Bowling Club, Tyngsborough Senior Golf League, and a local Bible Study group. In his later years, he enjoyed playing computer games, participating in his various clubs and leagues, travelling to Mohegan Sun, and attending his grandchildren’s various school and sports activities. A calling hour for Benton will be held on Monday, September 23, 2019 from 10 to 11 am at the Tyngsborough Funeral Home, 4 Cassaway Dr, Tyngsborough, MA 01879 followed by a service in his memory. Committal prayers will be held after at the Pine Ridge Cemetery, 130 Billerica Rd, Chelmsford, MA. In Lieu of flowers, the family is asking to make a donation in Benton’s name to the Grace Lutheran Church, 130 Spit Brook Rd, Nashua, NH 03062.
